Sambo,
It appears the R33's has the 4.3 to 1 diff ratio the same as the R32. The spec's are on the attached web site http://justskylines.com/skyline/know...ech_specs.aspx Two Harrison cobras that I know of changed the R32 diff for S15 diff (3.7 gears) and now they can use first gear and the car is a lot quiter at highway speed. One used a T56 box and the other was a T45. Warren |
Sambo I am running the GTS diff in my Cobra 3.91 ( I have a GTS as well ) and find that the 3.91 behind a T56 is pretty spot on almost doing the legal speed limit in second gear, cruising in sixth gear at 100kmh its doing just under 1600rpm. Both my cars are supercharged now but even before this the GTS was very nice to drive and would accelerate reasonably in sixth gear.
Hope this helps. Cheers Greg |

I couldn't hang around for long after the meeting finished tonight but we'll have to catch up properly next time. Hope that new turbo is holding up well - our fuel reg hasn't packed it in yet! Paul |
I have 3.9's in my Commodore with the T56, it has a mildish cam and makes just over 300rwkW's.
When I get lazy, I just go 1st, 3rd, 5th then 6th, I do this probably 30% of the time, (I don't use the clutch either when I'm super lazy). If I want a bit more zap I just go through the gears normally. As mentioned before it cruises at around 1600rpm in 6th at 100. I wouldn't worry about the cost to change the diff ratio in the PCM either. Any decent tuner would do that for nothing if they had tuned your car, it's a 1 minute job when they have your program on file.... Of course it's up to you, but I say keep the low ratio.... I don't think you'll regret it. |
