nearly an expensive mistake.

Hey guys if you have a lap timer for your racing as quite few do now make sure you take the batteries out when you store them i just happened to have a look at mine the other day and the battery had started to leak and corroded the alloy case and the edge of the circuit board another couple of weeks and it would have been junk. The battery was new in october. but no a good quality one .
So check you batteries boys . next time you go use it it may not work. you should not loose stored laps as these go to a flash memory until they are cleared.

Oz,

That is good advise. I had to throw away a tape recorder because I forgot to check on the batteries and when I thought of it they were so corroded they had ate the springs and contacts out. Now anything I have that uses batteries I open and check at least once a month and sometimes more often. I also try tom buy the better batteries as I had rather spend a little more than than replace a unit.
