Texas Cobra Club
Well I could not attend the Queensland Cobra meet so me and the boy attended the Texas Cobra Club meet instead in Austin Texas. They held a 3 day spring event with many pictures posted on the Texas forum.
It was a great day with a number of members giving my son a ride in their Cobras. We certainly enjoyed ourselves and the hospitality was great. I looked high and low but could not find one Chebby motor in the whole 130 cars. A great mix of cars. What an amazing sight and sound when 130 cobras set of one after the other all with side pipes and not one of them would have come within a bulls roar of the Australian noise requirements. One racing Cobra had track slicks on with stubby side pipes like Aussie Mikes and was road registered. There also was (from I could see) an absense of police activity probably because the group was well organised and behaved. Thanks Texas Cobra Club Bruce |
Bruce,
You missed Mike Mitchell's red Cobra with silver stripes. He has a 350 C.I. Dark Side engine. We are glad you had a good time. Come back and see us again! Everyone that loves our cars is welcome. Steve |
Certainly looked like fun Bruce. Here's the link to the photos:

I see what you mean Sambo - thats some of the longest hair on a dude Ive ever seen....
|
Imagine driving that into an Aussie sunset. Welding goggles required.

Does anyone know the process and materials to obtain such a polish. I've got a few bits I want to polish & my method is pretty slow and laborious.

Here's a link to one of his build logs on the public side of the Hurricane forum: http://forum.hurricane-motorsports.c...num=1151629002 I really like the "Antique" idea.....could this be a way to register our cars without having to deal with all the sniffer laws? Dugly  |
Hello Doug, yes I was there with my family and a friend, thanks a lot for your kind comments, we had to go after a stop on a gas station yust before the cruise to Canyon Lake, my son and daughter were very tired and we decided to come back to San Antonio.
Thans for the pic and Best Regards Alfredo Canalizo www.kitcarsmexico.com |
Alfredo,
I enjoyed meeting you and I think your car is the "bomb". Hope to see you next year. |
Alfredo
My spanish is not good but I could not see on your website where in Mexico you are. Is it cheaper to by a Kirkam out of mexico than USA. Maybe you brought a few before the Peso crashed and you can now sell them at a cheaper price;) Maybe a rolling body It is an impressive machine. Bruce |
Ha Ha, Texas Cobra Club ! Please don't take offence. Years ago when the internet was new and I had just met a new girlie. Her son was an internet nerd and let me use the computer to look at Cobra sites. I was happily drooling over all sorts of pics and finally found the "Texas Cobra Club" or club cobra, something like that...It turned out to be a strip/escort web site and guess who walked in,(just at the site popped up) gave me a cuddle and looked over my shoulder to see what I was looking at. oooh did I have to do some fast talking. Luck had it the son was watching and confirmed my actions...the nerd liked boobies too.

That's a good looking blue car right behind the Tennessee Volunteer sweatshirt ;)
Looks just like Roush #1....In fact it is Roush #1 :) Jody |
