Engineering Inspection
Harrison Cobra 80 has been to engineering and had all the ADR-related things checked, including brakes and noise levels. All is well. Nothing to do. QLD Transport next!

So...the engineer has had a look ? Then you have got to take it to the RTA. I'm in NSW and I built my car with the engineer "advising" during the progress of the build. When it was completed the engineer submitted a report and then a blue slip inspection was done by a certified inspector; the same as a yearly rego inspection. Then the information was submitted to the RTA for a request for a VIN. Is this the process in QLD ?

Similar Rob. I have worked with this engineer since the Permission to Build application in late 2007, then progress checks/advice, then a Qld Police inspection of relevant VIN and Engine numbers (and application for and issuing and attachment of surrogate numbers where needed) then the final engineer's report, after inspection (above) of all ADR items and brake performance, noise levels and so on. Then... when that is done his report is sent to Queensland Transport and they make another appointment for a Safety Certificate/Roadworthiness examination (your blue slip) and a few other items of theirs. Then if that is all fine one can pay some money to attach some number plates!

Celebration Time
Well done Merv,
Like many I've followed your progress from the beginning and looking at the result of your hard work it's not surprising that you passed engineering. Congratulations - another Harrison soon to be on the road. |
Stiffy, Id like that feeling :o

Engineering

Excellent!!
Merv
Well done and congratulations. I look forward to hearing all the details of how everything went. Your sailing through is a testament to your attention to detail and I am confident that the QT inspection will be equally pleasant. Now for the 'big wait' ... paperwork, blue plates, bookings, ... Cheers Geof |
Thanks everyone, and especially Geof and Les for their help. Yes, now a few weeks for the paperwork to go in to QT from the engineer and then wait for an appointment date from them at Maroochydore (maybe faster than in metro areas). Suspension is úp' (place at Slacks Creek has the C Spanners for AVO adjustable shockies) and exhaust is raised to the max as well. All lights checked and so on.
It is raining anyway... Merv |
