Looks like it would certainly be an interesting kit, it's just a shame there isn't any more info, photos etc of completed chassis, cars and the like. Where did you find the chassis pics in your gallery? I'd love to see more. The black car at the top looks awesome, however based on the fuel filler location it's probably a reversed image of a LHD car? Do you know if there's any pics of registered kits available? What's also interesting is that he is selling a kit with a live rear end. General question, do Cobra's with live rear ends end up having a low rear stance, or do they tend to sit a bit higher than a IRS version? Steve. |

As a newbie to all of this...still in the contemplate and compare kits stage...what are the advantages and disadvantages of this kit to say a DRB or Harrison? I have decided I'm keen on getting a project going and was deciding between DRB and Harrison having seen both workshops and had a look at their products. I'm keen to run an LS3 and T56...but now a third project to consider.....Thanks in advance for any advice...

Tony - i think they are too new for anyone to offer much advice on this one. Looks promising but I would like to see a completed car in the flesh.

Thanks for that...that was the way I was leaning...I'm just interested in the chassis as well over the more traditional Cobra replica chassis construction...

The Aluminum chassis certainly looks nice. It'll be a trick looking thing all finished. I wonder if it saves much weight over a traditional steel tube chassis though?
From the small number of pics we've seen it looks like it'll use some kind of sub frames bolted into the front and back. The aluminum sheet it's made from looks to be fairly thick. The panels out the front look to be about 6mm. I imagine there would have to be corespondingly heavy sections in the foot boxes and tunnel to support it and similar in the rear for the sub frame/suspension. 6mm aluminium plate is roughly 16KG per square meter. That's about 1/3 the weight of equivalent steel but with this construction technique you need a lot of material. How ever it works out I'm keen to check out one of these cars in the flesh. Cheers |
