Sandown Update
Last month I posted a thread mentioning a Track Day at Sandown Raceway, here in Melbourne, as my Cobra is lacking a few safety items, such as, a fire extinguisher, roll bar, and operational brakes, my son and I took our Nissan Gazelle track car along, no Cobras, but a couple of Porsches, an M3 plus the usual Supras, Skylines, and WRX's turned up. A good day was had by all... except for the guy who put his Porsche GT3 into the wall backwards. OUCH!
We took an in car video and a couple of laps with my son driving are on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdMSMwuyTM8 If you have a look, front straight 180 kph: back straight 170 kph, Best time 1 min 32.4 sec, not bad in a 1.8 litre turbo, (The V8's do it in 1 min 10.8 sec, at 260 kph.) all the shuddering under brakes is the warped discs, started off OK, but got progressively worse, and we pulled the pin early. If you were wondering, there was no passing allowed on the bendy bits, that's why he was sitting behind slower cars. Maybe next year I'll do a video of the Cobra (fingers crossed).:) Peter. |
Very good ! I'm impressed at the quality of the picture also. What did you use to film the ride ?
