My winge

Hi all

For those that have heard and read me winging about being busy on the house renovations and to busy to do car things...

Well the house is all finished and we are delighted with all the effort. The builders and architects etc have all been great.

It is not a big house as there is only Anne and I in residence now..:3DSMILE:

We have been very happy with all the results and were delighted to see the pool, and spa entered in the awards for best small pool spa.

Our architects and builders have also entered the house for an award.

Here is a link to the architects/designers site.

Stiffy

You can well remember the renovations in early days - two years ago.

That is the room you stood in.

Now Homes - what can I say. I was a school at the time.

Frank Lloyd Wright would be proud!

Merv and Sharon

Merv,

The Frank Llloyd Wright style was something that we looked at in early days when looking for a house.

There are a few examples of his architecture in Geelong.

%/

But I became more aware of them after 'Mulv' in Scottsdale Az. took me out to the Frank Llloyd Wright school in Arizona.

We drove around there and then went looking for examples in Arizona.

This home is an 'Eichler' style or 'Palm Springs Modern'. Again when we were in Palm Springs I took a real liking to the homes. Even went to Sinatra's.

Eichler have their own website and there are dedicated Real estate agents in California that only sell Eichlers.

I will get my son to Post a few more photos of the before and after as we gutted the entire house and then added on.

Cheers

Bernie

Yes used the 'Stegbar' windows.

A great product and after sales service.

The manager of the 'Stegbar' Geelong region even called in for a coffee...%/

Good service. Price OK also.

Nice Bernie. We lived in Rochester in up-state NY and there are 4 houses there that FLW did. They still look contemporary. He left a great legacy.

Hi Bernie, Mate Pal,..

I love the ronovations and you thoroughly deserve everything that the good lord shoves your way. \\

But I have a question relating to reno's?

Two years ago, a mate of mine decided to build a 5 million mansion overlooking Port Hacking in Sydney. It was a difficult. deep waterfront block and there were two building cranes working on the site.

At the same time, I decided to build my Cobra. He's now been living in his magnificent home for 6 months and my car is still being built. Am I missing something here? What's going on?

I'm sure if you paid $5M for your Cobra build it would have been finished in double quick time. What's the problem?:LOL:

I'll be feeling your pain soon Bernie. We just bought a one acre property out in Sunbury. Now I've got the opportunity to build my Garage Mahal. I'll be paying someone else to build this one as I don't have the time these days to do it myself.

Cheers

Mike,

I've just checked on the invoices and I'm not too far behind that figure, but I still don't have a registered car. Ah well. 6mths to go wrestling withn the NSW RTA. Isn't life fun.

Don't worry about your garage. As long as It's not a motor vehicle, it will be built in no time.

Yours truly

Baz

Aussie Mike 08-12-2009 05:51 AM

You are doing better than me Baz, I've been messing round with mine for 7 years now. Sure it's registered but its far from finished.

Cheers

Ron

Yes I am - we are both - happy. As you know I have been messing about with the project for a while now. All serious and very little
R+ R with car events.

I will get my son Todd to assist with posting some of the other photos.

Bernie
