Basic wiring diagrams
Does anyone know of a website where I can print off basic wiring diagrams?
I require one for headlight circuit Park/low/high and Indicator circuit (no hazzard lights). This is all for the 54 chev truck I am working on, the truck had no indicators at all, I have bought a universal switch (switch has light in the end of stalk). I also bought a 3 wire flasher unit, I thought I had a gist on what I needed to do, but it has not worked. I have not sarted on the headlights yet but figured if there is a site that has the indicators then there is a chance there is also a site that will have the headlight. I had drawn up a plan for indicators but once wired does not seem to work. Any help appreciated. |
try www.madelectrical.com they have some info on their site about headlights and chevy wiring etc
maybe helpful |

Thanks for the link, Ok after much headscratching I thought "What if the flasher is faulty", so I swapped it with the one in my Cobra, low and behold it works :) Glad I was not getting my basic electricals wrong. I have also now begun drawing up my headlight wiring, so dont really require a site now, but if one does exist it could be a useful thing to have on hand (save me free hand drawing any wiring) |
Without searching too hard you should find a program called Smartdraw. I think it was originally for doing basic floor plan layouts in a house but the version I have now also includes electrical symbols.
It is drag and drop and snap to. Also, if you wish to relocate a component the attached wiring follows. Might be of some use to you. 54 chev? Is that a mapleleaf? |

Here's a good PDF with plenty of tips and colour schematics.
