Sound deadening???

Hi all,

I have used Dynamat in my GT40 to eliminate the interior noise levels. After purchasing from Summitracing.com I went on line today to buy another box and found that postage is now over twice the cost of the product.

So basically, I think it is cheaper to buy here now.. Who would have thought with the dollar.

Just looking for a lead to buy some locally. I have tried a few on line stereo outlets etc. The eBay on line guy does not respond to emails...

Any thoughts on Dynamat. It is an aluminium faced lead adhesive product that just sticks in like large tiles.

After Googling the name and brand it keeps coming up with car forums but no real leads to suppliers in Australia.

I am just chasing an Australia outlet.

...any thoughts or companies would be appreciated

Thanks

Whoaaa

How quick and effective is the forum...:3DSMILE:

Just received a phone call and a link to a supplier.

Spoke with the owner of fhrxstudios in Caringbah N.S.W.

This guy has the product and is mailing it to me now - post free!!!...%/

It worked out over $148 cheaper than importing.

Guess you do save on some things when buying locally.

The fhrxstudio guy can be contacted on 0417 686671. He has a great range of audio items as well.

Mmmm perhaps a big sub woofer and speakers to overcome the engine noise..:3DSMILE:

I have used some of their products and they are good.

The audio guy in Caringbah N.S.W, was very helpful and had the product at about the same price and no postage.

Just a follow up on the dynamatt.

fhrx studios have been great in organising the mat and are posting it down post free. So all in all, it is actually cheaper than getting it from the US suppliers. It appears that fhrx studios bulk buy as the they are an audio shop.

The mat is already installed in the GT40 around the bulkhead area and it has stopped vibration and drumming. This extra mat will go in the doors to give the door a better sound when closed and reduce road noise.

%/...some neat audio equipment as well on their site..perhaps a stereo in the GT40..

I don't want this to start to seem/sound like an add for fhrx studios but good service deserves recognition.

Nothing wrong with advising of good service (from the customers perspective) Bernie.

Yes, I agree the but I do not want to run in opposition to any advertiser or company on the forum.

Interesting talking with them at fhrx studios as they have a few good ideas on installation of hidden units and speakers in cars that have good sound qualities.

Got some dynamat and stuck a square on every alloy panel under the car and yeah it made a huge difference to the drumming in car. Went from zing zing noise when you tap a panel to thud thud. Which means a reduction in NVH.

I'm very happy with the results.
