Top event!
Hope everyone got home OK. I got home all dry which is a bonus. Considering the weather conditions we were lucky to get a good go at everything on the weekend. Great fun and very well organized! The Orange DRB 540 was very quick, especially since they must be 1600 Kg plus. Ben |
Pictures, where are the pictures.

This footage is a quick compilation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8biGBwn-gxs This footage shows how not to take turn 1 on a slippery track. This spin won the "Best Spin" award for the weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_0URenQbyw More footage (without music) of the weekend will be uploaded to YouTube over the next couple of days. The Orange DRB 540 (Pumpkin) performed exceptionally well straight outa the box with its very strong alluminiun chassis, BA/F Falcon running gear, 290 Boss motor and 5 speed man. The ABS brakes were brilliant -- however the electronic throttle, (fly by wire) track control and manual gearbox required a different driving technique to muscle its 1450 kg. It seems to make lots of power from 5000rpm but she cut out at 6000rpm ---one of the last minute preps that didn't eventuate...... Awesome !
To all those who participated in the running of the event --Congratulations -- it just keeps getting better. The Queen:D PS see that stuff in the background -- its Sunshine ! |

Thought I'd jump in with a HUGE thanks from all of the Queenslanders, to all of the N.S.W. gang , for running a superb Nationals despite the dodgy weather.
Phil, you've pulled it off again..:LOL:...(Too obvious...so I'll leave it alone )... and we are already really looking forward to next year. We all got home late yesterday, safe and well, and were really careful not to scratch the King Cobra and Queen Cobra trophies on the long trip home...just in case you were all concerned !!;) Fantastic to catch up to all the terrific guys and girls that make up this great community of Cobra and GT40 nuts. Every one of the Queensland troop spoke extremely highly of the whole event and how friendly and welcoming everyone was over the whole week. Many thanks... Cheers, Warren. |
Huge Congratulations to the King and Queen....
Well done in what looked like challenging conditions... I missed it all, but raised a glass to you all from Sunny Madrid Cheers Cameron |
Great pics and video already posted but where are all the photos ?????? I'm dying here!!!! Those of us not there need more .... PLEASE:3DSMILE::3DSMILE:

They're producing a CD containing hundreds (probably thousands) of great photos of the weekend. Cost $10. Sure to become a collector's item. Get in quick before Phil and the gang put their feet up for a well earned rest. |

The boys really know how to do the nationals in style they had a fridge and an expresso machine in their pit shed .
Though we would have needed a lot more rain for them to use the surfboard. keep it up next year a keg would be nice. oz. |
