Instructions for Emergency Brake?
Hello All,
Bought a used B&B a few months ago with under 500 miles on it. E brake has never worked correctly, meaning it doens't pull up easily and never seemed to engage the rear brakes. Just finished swapping ring/pinon (required removed calipers, pads, etc) and now it seems like the brakes are dragging a little and the e brake lever barely goes up. So....anyone have the instructions on adjustment of the brake? I've tried researching here and found a link on how to reinforce the mount, but not adjustment/install. I have a narrowed 9", car is a 2008. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |
All I did on mine was to leave a slight amount of slack when the handle was all the way down. Alot depends on the make of your handle and it's geometry. If there is slack in the E-brake cable, then you need to check for free operation of the manual lever on the brakes.

I had the same problem with my used B&B. I took it to Bill Littleton who had to shorten some springs etc. If I can find his email I will post it. Chas

Thanks guys. THe driver side is fine, no drag. Passenger side is dragging pretty bad. Put it up on jack and difficult to spin wheel. Disconnected parking brake, still have an issue.
THe bottom caliper bolt was a ***** to thread, even though it started fine. I'm wondering if the thread went in at an angle and is causing inside pad to bind. Hmm... |
