Is this an LA EXOTIC?

I recently purchased this car and successfully imported it into Canada, the previous owner had informed me that it was an LA EXOTIC kit, after contacting Bryan via e-mail he informed me that there should be a stamp on the frame to indicate the origin, so far i haven't been able to locate any stamp other than the letters/numbers that match the VIN# on the original title...does anybody have any ideas? i am not disputing the origin i'm just trying to verify it for parts and stuff

My guess is SC Motorcars. The door handle and door striker are the same as my SC. My car has SC motorcars on the fuse box cover.

Post a picture of the hood scoop and a shot of the radiator from the front.

I don't see anything from these pictures that rule it out as a LAE, but there are a couple of things LAE would not have done that are showing in these pictures.

....as Lester points out, the door handles are not LAE style.

thank al you folks for you kind replies, i have attached what i have for photos of the hood scoop & the rad...i would appreciate any updates....BTW:car was built in 1990 in North Carolina...it has been a lifelong desire (since i was 17, now 53) to own one, as i got older, and my patients grew shorter, so building was not an option (also lack of space, tools & Big $$$$) this was a very economical ( especially in Canada) option. no matter what i am happy with it!!!

a couple of questions

the biggest issue i have with this car is the rubbing of the rear tires in the wheelwells, (2470) i have had 1 1/2" donuts put in the upper spring cup,(2480, prior to install) it has helped some but there needs to be more lift still...the suspension assembly is as shown in 2469...any ideas?...would air shocks work?

Paul F 09-06-2010 08:30 PM

Bubba,

It is not an LA Exotics. Hood scoop is not the same.

CHANMADD 09-06-2010 09:32 PM

I would modify the fender well first ,before modifying the suspension. That piece of fibreglass that has been rubbing is intruding in the wheel arch ???. Why is it like that?

winnipaw 04-20-2011 02:53 PM

On the front bumper overiders...if each has one support it most likely is an SC. GMS should know, he produced them. Nice car

davecobra 04-25-2011 06:58 PM

Yes Bubba, it is a SC Motorcars, I have one also, good car, I changed to carrera coilovers with 300 lb springs and redid the fiberglass to where it blends with the fender. Lester and Leon and I all have these cars, good cars.
