Hood latch parts

The "J" shaped piece on the hood latch with the screw in it that locks into the body fell off of one of my latches. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement part? Thanks, Chas

most of those aren't automotive specific, they are just utility type cams for cam latches
for instance, cage doors on delivery vans have them separating the passenger from the cargo area. a good hardware store, tractor supply, etc......

Great idea. I will Tractor Supply a shot on Tuesday when I am there. Thanks.

Very popular for use on the rear window locks on Camper shells for pickups.

Chas,

I used a flat screw and washer with some lock tight to keep the screw from loosening. The washer was placed in the space between the hood rod and the " j " shaped hood latch part. I put some jb weld/quick steel at the bottom of the long rod to keep them from sliding off. Just a back up.. I haven't had a problem since.

Rick, thanks for the backup source.

Leecbr, the JB weld is great idea. I guess if I used that I wouldn't be looking for a replacement part.

Again, thanks everyone. Chas

once you've established where it ends up on the shaft, drill a drill point into the shaft for the screw to nest into, might keep it there until you realize it needs to be tightened again.
