Spring Rates

To any one with a B&B with a Ford FE (390, 427, or 428). what spring rates are you using front and rear. Also has anyone weighed there car and determined fron and rear weight? Would appreciate your comments and whether you would have used more or less depending on how your car handles.

Thanks,

John

Spring Rates

Come on guys, Bryan, help me out here. I have talked to a few people and received differing recommendations on the coilover spring rates for both front and rear of a B&B with a an FE engine. I know some of you guys have FE's. So what coilover spring rates are you using and what has been your experience with them - i.e. - to stiff - to weak. I would like to set up my car for primarily street, but stiff enough for some autocross.

Thanks in advance

John

Hi John. The best way to get ahold of Bryan is to e-mail him direct at bbmfg@jscomm.net

I've been installing a lot of Carrera coilovers lately, and on big blocks we use 525 lb. springs on the front. It's possible you may need the 2" spacer between the adjusting collar and spring. But so far I've only had to use them on a couple of cars. We've been using 185 lb. on the rears. If you are using RCC, the rears are 170 lb. Right now I can't remember the front rates, so you need to contact Bryan.

Must be someone else who has a FE or a 351 in a B&B

Please comment on your experience with coil over spring rates. Also, are you using Carrera coilovers or another brand. All info is appreciated.

Thanks

John:)

I have a 428 CJ

Just getting ready to drop a 428 CJ into my B&B and I will be using 550# Carrera coil over springs in the front and stock (what ever Bryan installed when I bought it) in the rear. I am waiting on Bryan to call me back now, I will ask him when he calls.

Spings

I to have a B&B with a small block and I had to adjust the coil overs pretty high to keep the tires from rubbing, I have no idea what poundage they are, I am still waiting for an email from Brian on that, I believe they put the stock or what ever they recomend in my kit, but I need to go heavier on both front and back, I am also looking to find out what the min&Max back spacing for my wheels I can go with.
