Attaching Dash Material
I feel like I am the only guy asking questions here. What did you guys use to attach your dash material? Also, did anyone mount their cut-off switch on the dash? If so, where at? Any pictures?

Go ahead and keep asking. Gives me something to think about. Going to have surgery on my shoulder on the 25th. Off of work for 2 months. As for the dash I can't help you. I made a dash out of mahagony. It matches the steering wheel. Any other questions keep asking!!!!!!!!! Jim

I used 3-M Spray adhesive. It worked very well. They have a regular strength and an extra strength. I used the extra strength. It was probably the same thing in a different package for 2 dollars more. It works like contact adhesive. Spray both sides wait a while and stick. Not much room for error. I know I was very tense when I did it.

If you get, or rather when you get the spray adhesive on stuff you where you don't want it, use ordinary charcoal lighter fluid on a rag to remove it. It won't hurt vinyl, paint or carpet. I’m not sure about leather but I doubt that it would harm leather. Works like magic!

The medium strength 3M from Track, Pep Boys, etc., will work fine. Spray both sides, let dry tack free, then stick. Now, for dashboards, there's one more step. Where the vinyl folds around the back of the dash, use DAP or Weldwood contact adhesive (Hardware store, Home Depot, Lowes). It's used for laminates and kitchen countertops. This stufff will hold the overlap in place, wheras, the 3M will not. If you decide to get fancy with a veneer (constantines.com), put the veneer over plywood with the Weldwood. Use screws, under the veneer, to attach the inlay through the dash. Cutout the foam backing under the vinyl dash for the inlay. Really looks plush.
