Gas Cap Install

Hello again,

I am tired of smelling gas in my garage so I guess it is time to install the gas tube to the cap and the cap itself. I have no idea how to install the gas cap. I have the metal tube that goes from the tank to the hole in the body where the cap will mount and I have a shorter tube about 5-6in. long with a flange and a few holes for mounting. I think I might be missing a piece. I have thought of one solution but I think I am overlooking a more simple solution.

Right now I have Duct tape as gas cap.

Thanks Jim

I used a filler neck from a Mustang II . If I remember correctly I unscrewed the gas cap and put the filler neck in there and screwed it back together. Put a small amount of caulk under the cap and bolted the cap though the body using the holes in the filler neck. You will have to shorten the filler neck some. Jim
