Firewall finishing

I posted this question before, but figured I will go for it again. What did everyone use on their firewall? I am contemplating truck bed liner or flat black paint. I am open to ideas.

Hi

I thought long and hard about what to do with the firewall in my car. I ended up taking the painters advice and having him fill any gaps or holes that weren't going to be used and then painting it the same color as the body but taking the shine out of it by adding a chemical that makes it more like a "Satin". Came out very nice and looks clean.

Re firewall

I used Thermo-Tec on mine. It doesn't look bad and provides excellent heat shielding. I also used it to shield my brake and gas lines anywhere they are close to a header or exhaust pipe. It will also help a little with noise but there are better noise insulation materials available.

Gordan, how much did you pay for the aluminum treatment and who did it? chuck

It is strictly for cosmetics, it is very thin rolled aluminum, since I did not need it for ridgitity, I work at a oil refinery and got it from the pipe insulators, it is 3 feet wide and 100 feet long, my friend Dennis and I split it, we got it free but you could by it from an insulator for about $135.00 a roll, I glued it on, and used some small screws in some parts, John Mcmahon gave me the idea to use wd40 and a scotch brite pad, then I used a por 15 clear coat, I think it turned out great!! you can see a little bit of it in my gallery.:)

We use a semi-gloss black for small touch ups. It's almost an identical match for the black gel coat.
