Gas Tank Problems
Hi Guys,
I am having a problem with my gas tank and I was wondering if any of you had a similar experience or possible solution. The driver's side top of my gas tank is caving in. The driver's side bottom is bulging out. I suspect that the bottom bulging is deforming the top and causing it to cave in. I noticed there are only 2 straps supporting the gas tank from below but there is a spot for a third. I am going to add a third strap and that will hopefully fix the problem. I also thought it was a venting problem but the vent seems to flow OK. Anyone had a similar experience, possible solution? Am I missing something? You might want to take a look at your tank just in case. Thanks Jim |
Jams,
I was talking to a local person who built a B&B, and he mentioned that he collapsed his tank by tightening the top straps down to tightly. He said that when he loosened them, it regained it's shape. Don't know if this is what is happening to you, but sounds like a possibility. Tom |
