B&B Starter Solenoid?

With the T/K minus, B&B installed a starter solenoid under the dash. I went and bought a starter, installed it, but the starter I bought had a solenoid on it. We had to make a "jumper" wire to get it to kick. It's been working fine, however, it seems to HANG UP for about 1-2 seconds(like it is still spinning??) after the motor cranks.

is there a year/make that doesn't have the solenoid on the starter that will fit the 302 t-5 set up?

thanks

You don't have to have another starter. You can wire around this one. The problem is that you must have wired a jumper from the starter to the solenoid on the starter. This is a no-no. this causes the starter to act as a generator when you let up. The generator then back feeds the solenoid and causes it to hange. Starter life will be short.
You can send the wire from the key switch to both solenoids, or you can eliminate the solenoid not on the starter. A small relay from radio shack can be used if a temp terminal is neeeded for balast resistor or the like.
