Go to 'stock car products' or 'colemans', get the spline quick release, no play, and about 4' of steering shaft, if you need it, they have rod ends to fit the steering shaft.

That is what I was thinking of. Actually, was also thinking if I got two hubs, I could switch steering wheels!

Well, I was thinking of the detachable wheel for safety and as a theft deterent. Then, got to thinking I could use a nice leather wheel for track, but have the wood for shows and around town. I don't know, just over thinking!

Hey Ohbuoy, i bought a splined quick release off e-bay for $50.00 AU ($25.00 US), which just happened to fit my the spline on my steering column and i am having an aluminium adapter plate made at the moment so that it will fit my moto-lita wheel. i will send some photos when i get it back.
