B&B questions
Hi Everyone,
I'm from NH, B&B is doing a turnkey - for me now and I'll take delivery the end of Feb. Southern Automotive built a 351W stroker for it. It'll receive a Tremec 3550. Bryan, Laurie, and Karen @ B&B have been great to me. I flew out there to see the shop in MO and was quite impressed. So excited I could pee myself. Just in time for my 30th birthday, pre-mid life crisis I guess. Couple questions for anyone who wishes to enlighten me... 1) Bryan is doing the narrowed 9" and Carrera coil overs for my car, and I plan to go with 295/50-15's. Does anyone have the same set up, and if so, do you get any tire rub? Should I opt for the 275/50-15's instead? 2) Plan to title as a '66. Other than the initial cost for the title conversion, can anyone give me a valid con to doing this? The obvious pros to me would be, it's cool, possible resale, cheaper town reg, and exempt from any emissions standards. I'm I missing something else? We'll, I've babbled enough for my rookie thread, but looking forward to discussions with all of you and great to be on board... Thanks in advance for your inputs  |
Kiknasp,
I own a B&B also im in upstate Ny there arent to many of us out this way. as far as the rear goes I have a 8.8 and am narrowing it this winter. (Im running 295/60/15s and have a ton of tire rub) you should be ok as far as tire rub goes if you get the backspace correct. I would check with brian. As far as the reg goes that really depends on the state and how fussy they are. I can't speak for N.H but N.Y is a pain in the a$$ my car is titled as a 97 shelby convertible I got around all emissions by using a 289 out of a 65 mustang. They go by the date of the motor. you need to talk to some guys out there that have done it. you'll have to take a road trip in july to the summer run in lake george I meed a few more b&b's there;) Greg |
thx blubyu2 for the response.
Your 295/60 has even more sidewall than mine. And the 8.8 is a wider axle than a narrowed 9, so I could see why you're having rub. Is your rub coming from the outside corner of the tire to the fender lip or is it on the inside? Coil overs? If so, did you raise it up as far as reasonable? Would love to join in on a cobra cruise this summer. Looking forward to it!!! Mike |
Mike,
Im getting rub on the outside wheel lip with coilovers up as high as possible. Im sure your going to love the car. you can't explain owning one of these you'll understand after your first ride As far as the summer run goes we would love to have you come theres around 20 already and growing fast. Give me a call 518-584-1600 ask for greg or email me yanksgp@acmenet.net for details Greg |
