Trans mount
Which trans mount do I use for the T-5? Stock Mustang?.. & Is the trans support to go on top of the rails, or under? Mine with the stock trans mount is too high.. (with support on top of rails). Even if I put it under I am still too high..... I am ready to fabricate one out of aluminum & some rubber bushings.. Any other suggestions???
BTW --All wired and engine is in.. Have 80 hours in it.. Welding mounts one day this week (would have welded it today but left my hood at work!!! Dummy ) and re-installing the body.. Should actually run next weekend.... WOO HOO.. |
the tranny mount goes under the rails.
and as i am told with the lower links paralell to the ground the tranny should be just slightly higher than the differential for the driveshaft to work properly. i used extra long 1/2 ' bolts to give myself some adjustment, but as it turned out with the flat tranny brace and tranny mount i ended up tightening them all the way up. you can be no more than 7 degrees out, but you do not want to be level. good luck tom |

I am going to make up a solid mount tomorrow or Saturday. Well not totally solid but close. Once I get it driveable I will go back and check it out, and I will be able to re-adjust it as I need.. Just a little thing I wanted to try out.. We'll see how it perfroms once on the road.. It may just cause to much vibration, but you don't know till ya try.... I LIKE TO TINKER... Fred |
