Going from 302 to 351
OKAY, I might be a little ahead of myself here, but I was wondering. If I were to change out my 302 for a 351, I know I would need to get new headers, but will the engine mounts remain the same? It seems to me that there were different engine mounts that lowered the engine?

Hi Tom. Same headers and mounts if you use a windsor. Clevelands are total different puppies. The only difference is the 351 will sit up a little higher and the cutouts in the body for the sidepipes will be about an inch or inch and a half higher. If and when you do the change over, let me know, I'll give you some tips to make it easy.

Hi Ron,
I've got an LA Exotics Cobra, which as I understand, is the same as the current B&B except for some misc. improvements. I am also considering a 289 for 351 swap. Can you confirm for me that my existing headers and engine mounts will work? Is there a way to avoid cutting the body by getting different headers? Thanks, /Chris |
