Coil-Over Conversion Car Weight
Hi,
I currently have Mustang II Front Suspension in my B & B. I found a Coil over conversion kit that bolts right in(QA1). A few other guys have tried them with successful results. They sell them with springs rated for 1100-1400lbs and 1400-1600lbs. Since I don't know how much my car weighs with a small block (iron heads), I don't know what would be best. Any suggestions??? Do you know the front weight of your car with a small block or what standard coil-overs are used on B & B's. Thanks Jim |
Hi Jim. 375 lb on the front and 185 lb on the rear. That's the standard Carrera coilovers we install. You can go a little heavier. The top of the spring is wide and tapers down to fit the adjusting collar on the shock. Now the new Carreras are rebuildable. I'd say your car is roughly 2400 lb. Maybe a little less. Oops, forgot, the front spring is 8 inches tall.
