Upper Radiator Hose revisited
Well, the car is 95% done, and has 450 miles on it, and I am thinking about modifications. Has anyone used the cool flex or other polished hose with a 302? In my setup, the upper radiator hose comes out right in front of the alternator. Without a sharp 90 degree bend that I cannot get with the metal flex hose, I am not able to get around the alternator. I thought about mounting the alternator in a low position, however, that does not work with the frame rail being right there.

I don't have the same setup but here is a thought.... would a different thermostat housing work? Summit has a few different varieties 45, 90 and you can turn them in any direction you need to. I went through two before I found the right one. I also used Summit's version of cool flex. It works and looks great but it does cost a fortune!!!

It is actually the input to the radiator that is the problem.

I have been using the cool-flex hose. Very happy with it. No leaks.

How do you have yours routed? What alternator bracket are you using?

Sorry OhBuoy--Missed that you have a 302. I don't have the same set up.
