Anyone using low mount alternator bracket?

Is anyone using the equivelant of the March alternator bracket that hangs the alternator low? I tried this in the past, and it seemed like there was not enough clearance to the frame rail. I would really like to run this setup if possible, as it would give a better path for the upper radiator hose, and might allow use of a bracket without modifying it.

Tom:

I use an upper mount but it has a spacer for it. I agree the hose for the radiator is a little wierd looking and seems that you would be able to run it a better way... but have not found it yet.

Tom,

I am currently using the low mount alternator bracket on my A&C with 347 sb and it is close to the frame but have had no problems. On my particular frame I could get more room if needed by using a shorter belt. Your frame is very close to mine from what I've seen. Also I'm using an early waterpump ( pass. side bottom hose). Boy that tensioner March uses is the cats a$$.

On my ERA 427 S/C (#375), the low mount alternator bracket does not fit with my big block 428. The chasis rail is "just" in the way. It also puts the alternator just in front of, and thus closer to, the headers.

I am using a March setup with my 351W and though the alt. comes very close to the frame, it has not presented any problems at all. The 351 setup is a little different than the 302.

I will get some photos to you if you want, but I am out of town until the weekend.
