Wiper motor placement?

Where in the hell do you bolt the wiper motor so it lines up with the holes in the body? Nothing in the CD or the Book gee so do I pre-drill the holes in the body and fit the motor after the body is on or WHAT? I can read a blue print but not someones mind or did I miss somthing?

Thanks!

Wiper holes!!

There should be two dimples in the gelcoat! If not I'll take some measurements for you. Be sure to drill at 45 degrees! The motor gets mounted on the passenger side.

Mount the wipers first. Then, mount the motor using the little bracket they provide. It goes on the passengers side. Be sure that you mount the cable on the right side, either the top or the bottom, can't remember, or you will be wiping your body and not the windshield. Dont ask me how I know!!!

I concur with the advice above. I just drilled through the supplied bracket and the steel tube and used self tapping screws. You won't be using the motor anyway. I did have trouble with the wiper mounting. The angle of the supplied pvc tubing with the underside of the fiberglass body was not great. After much "reengineering" I ended up with a compromise angle that is hidden for the most part with the wiper arm. I'm not sure anyone knows but me.

I had to reinstall the body just to get the motor placement . I used the angled pvc piece to drill the holes at the right angle. remember to angle(point )them forward . there is a post on CC that tells about the wiring so you can have a park feature for the wipers,i did not find it untill after i burned out the contact in the motor.

I looked and considered the park function with associated wiring. I decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and it hasn't been any issue. You can time shutting the wipers off to accomplish the same thing. You won't need to do this except to show someone you have the wipers.
