upper ball joint loose
On the tubular A arm, was i supposed to tighten the BIG nut on the top A arm with the zirk fitting on it? Does it have shims in there or what? my wheel wiggles when i pull on the top of the wheel. It could not be worn out after only 500 miles?**)

In the tubular "A" arms that I have the Large outer surface of the Ball Joints are threaded and screw into the "A" arm. To visually check the fit, the shoulder of the Ball joint should be threaded down tight against the upper threaded boss. Are you sure the looseness is there? Can you visually see it? I myself have some minor amount of looseness that can be felt but it is the wheel bearings and will soon be corrected. The loosness could also be at the pivot points of the upper arm where it attaches to the chassis.

if i grab the top and shake it wiggles ,clunks . but if i grab the sides of the wheel and shake ,no loosesness.With the wheel on i cant see the ball joint move and with it off not enough leverage to feel the clunk.thanks for the reply.

Check the tightness of your wheel bearings. If you have to replace your ball joint they are the chrysler type for the late 60" (67 plymouth salelite-dodge charge)

Thanks, Clois. I just cant believe there gone after 500 miles.there is no way to tighten them?

Did you tighten the ball joint castle nut? I am a Ford guy thru and thru so I am a little new to some of this Chevy and Chrysler stuff on these kits.
You know the "ball" in the joint is what actually lets you turn the wheels and if the castle nut is loose, it ain't good.

the castle nut tightens the tapered part of the ball joint into the seat of the spindle.yes that is tight and it would be very bad comin loose at any speed. still fishin for an easy answer. thanks, Peter.
