Trunk Kit Yes Or No

I am going to do some custom sheet metal closures in my trunk instead of the carpet. B&B has theirs, but my experience with their custom upgrades has been less than stellar. Anyone have experience and maybe pictures. My question is that if I pay a top dollar that B&B charges for theirs and end up having to fabricate it anyway, I might as well buy some diamond plate and do it all myself. Thoughts? Thanks

Do it yourself. I did mine with .064 sheet aluminium and used less than $30 worth of material. I can take a picture for you tonight if you like. However, I am going to re-do mine this winter so I can mount my battery on the passenger side. I need to redistribut the weight to improve my handling.

I bought an inexpensive 30" brake at Harbor Freight and a phnumatic hand held sheer for about $60. Good luck with your project.

I would sell you mine that is not installed if you are interested. Like Clois said, doing it yourself is better.

Hopefully these pictures came through. If they did you can see I don't use my fender gas filler tube. That is a safety issue at track events and I choose to just open my trunk to fill my tank. Not a professional job but it works for me. If the didn't come through, check in my gallery.

The ones in my gallery can be enlarged to something you can actually see.

Clois, who's fuel cell is that?

Clois Harlan 12-09-2006 04:05 PM

I believe it is an RCR, I got it from Summit but when I order another one I will order one that holds more than 16 gals, maybe a 22 gal tank would be better. If I remember correctly our measurements need to be 18" X 24".

Would like to know how much you want for the trunk kit?

Clois Harlan 12-11-2006 05:15 PM

Thanks for the compliment but I could do it better next time (I think). I have access to a 48" brake now.
