Rear end Question

I just got back the rear end (Ford 9") from the machine shop after getting it narrowed. I bolted it into the frame (without axles and differential). Measuring from the flange out to the frame on the right side I get about 2 1/2". On the left side I get 1 5/8". This makes it 7/16" off center. They (the machine shop) said they centered off the outer support arms. It looks like the center supports are off a bit.
Where should I start? How close is "good enough"?
Bryan (B&B) said that most of the frames that were done by Northwest Exotics have needed some correction. Any help from other B&B/NW Exotic owners would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

On mine the back of the 9" axel flange is about 4 1/2 inches from the frame.
I have the one shortened by B&B.

Give it back to them and make them redo it.

With the housing mounted in the frame it should be centered in such a way that the outer bearing flange on each side of the car is the same distance from an imaginary line down the center of the frame. If it isn't the tires will not fit the same in the wheel wells. Use a tape measure carefully. The pinion IS offset in the center section.

One side of your rearend is shorter than the other. I am not sure what the measurement is but mine seemed to be around 2" different between the two sides. Send us some pictures.
