Jacking up my B&B

Not sure if this the right place to ask but I need to replace the oil pan and looking for the best way to raise it up. I was looking at a 4 post lift but I just sent the IRS their blood money and that left no money for a lift. I currently have a floor jack(5 1/2" lower limt). 4 jack stands and a pair of Rhino ramps. Was thinking I could drive the front up on the Rhino ramps and then raise it up farther using the cross member behind the radiator. Then lowering it on one set of jack stands and then raising the rear and using the other two stands. Does this sound OK?

I jack mine up on the cross member. Then put the jackstands in place.
1. The jack has to come in just in front of the front tire. This is the only place where you can get clearance.
2. Put the jack in the center of the cross member.
3. Once raised enough to clear the front of the car, twist the jack by its handle to the center.
4. Put your jackstands in place
5. Remove jack.

Thanks Paul. I thought it would be safe to use the cross member but wanted to make sure. Chas

Lots of 2x4s a foot long really come in handy no matter the situation.

I saw a few short bottle jacks. 6" when closed, has anyone tried one?

I work mine just like Paul F.
In at an angle in front of the front tire. Not too high or you will not be able to get the jack in the rear. If I need it really high, it takes a couple of times in the front and back. Just be sure you let it down in the same way! I know this from experience!

That's right. First get it up on the 4 stands on lowest position. Then add 2x4s to the jack to get it up higher. DONT jack below the radiator no matter what is welded there. It takes a while. Be patient and uber careful. Can fix Cobra. You, maybe not.

This an old post of mine. JAMS is now asking if anyone has tried the 6" bottle jacks. I have not.
