Back from paint!
Well it's been two weeks, seems longer, but it is back from paint.
It is the sane color as my '93 Cobra, Vibrant Red, code "ES". Pic in my gallery. I need to get the brakes figured out and finish her up. |
Very nice. Mine is in paint now. I understand about the time slowing down!

Planning a build
I'm in the planning stages and B/B is on my short list. Now that your build is almost complete are you happy with the product?
|
Yes. The fiberglass body is first rate and the frame is strong and rigid. I've been surprised how well "things fit". Brian has been making these for over 20 years and I think it is a solid kit. Great to do business with. They have done everything I have asked and then some. Qualifying my answer some, I don't have another kit to compare mine to but overall it has been satisfying and I will have a nice car when finished.

looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how much if you dont mind ? everyone ive talked to around here wants 7 to 9 grand.eek

check your fit
Your car looks great!! For cal who is in the looking stage. check your fit. I sat in a F-Five and found the car cramped for my size. great car but tight. The B&B I found to be a better fit for me, and the car is rugged. when you shut your door you have some mass there. I love mine

Why B&B?

The good: It is a very strong frame. The people are great, especially Karen. It is close to me. I get stuff I order the next day! It is bigger inside than FF. I did two of FF's "2 Day Builds". I think most of the parts are pretty standard that you would see on many kits. So that is pretty equal. The bad: The manual sucks and is very little help. The body, while being one of the strongest, is rough. The body shop spent a good amount of time (my money) on straighten it. All the mounting areas and where the body meets the frame must be galssed by YOU. If I think of any more later, I will post them. You will have a nice car if you choose the B&B but it is true with many kits. |
body shop
pmfranke
I chose a body shop in town here. They did more than just the paint. I had them hang the doors and trunk and hood. Those items did not fit well and I thought I would only make things worse. The paint part of the job was $5000 and the extra for the rough body and the before mentioned things was $1000. Big surprise, at least by me, was another $500 for tax! B&B wanted $4500 but I would need to have everything ready except sanding. Plus I would have to deliver the car and retrieve it a week or two later. I could not decide on what color strips to put on it so I didn’t put any. I was torn between silver and white. I don’t like black. This way it matches my ‘93 Mustang Cobra perfectly. The strips would have been another $500. They did a really nice job. You know there are some really good business I have delt with and I'm sure you have soom too. Maybe we should make a list on here of the best places to get work or parts. |

It looks as you have done a fantastic job on your Cobra. I did notice you modified your e-brake, I suppose everyone with B&B does something simular.
Another point for bdolloff to consider. |
Thanks for your responses.
