Windshield Install
OK I have done a search on the windshield install on the B&B cars, I found the measurement from the top of the windshield to the front edge of the rear cockpit opening to be between 36" and 37". How far forward is the lower rear edge of the windshield at centerline from the "dash" Lip? Any photos of the holes for the support arms in relation to the dimple in the body would be great. thanks Rich**)

I don't think you need that measurement since your side brace holes are already cut and your forward position is determined by the rake of your windshield.
By the way drilling your holes thru the side post will take some time since they are made of brass. Clois |
Need measurements please!!!
Thats my problem, I have a body with no holes or markings where the holes are supposed to be. If I knew how far forward the lower edge of the frame is supposed to be and the measure from the top to the rear, I will have the rake? I need the flippin measurements to correctly place the bottom of the windshield........once I have that the rest is not rocket science. Drilling the holes in the side support is the least of my worries, as long as I have them positioned correctly. **)

The inner edge of the windshield on mine is 6 5/8 inches frm the edge measured at the middle of the windshield.

the 36" measurment makes for a very vertical windscreen. for tall guys (like me ) when slouching i can look threw the windshield. If you have a top from B&B its supposed to fit at the 36" measurment( I dont have a top). when looking at other makes they all have more rake than i do. you have a little lee way with the chrome plate, good luck.

Thanks, I was at 7" and I do not think I will worry too much about 3/8 ths of an inch at the bottom, I will go drag the hard top out and see how it lines up though. How tight is the lower seal against the body? Is the compression of the seal the same for the whole length or does it seem a little looser in the middle? Thanks

Just bought a 2001 B&B turnkey. There is a visable gap below the weatherstipping under the windscreen. Is that normal?

Windscreen
On my B&B the weatherstrip is tighter on the sides than in the middle, I would think there should not be a gap between the seal and the body. I do know that if you stand the window up the seal is about even pressure along the whole length. If you rake the top of the windscreen back, then the center starts to lift off the body. Now with that said, If you stand the windshield up as to have the even pressue , the profile looks are just not there, I raked mine back to a happy medium between seal contack and decent looks to the angle of the windshield. You should be able to access your support arms and redrill the mounting holes. I would use caution though, especially if you have a hard top, as when you reposition the windshield, you will change the location of the top frame in relation to mating with a hardtop. Hope this helps.

and therein lies my initial dilema. I have a hard top that fits pretty well. I just need to mess with it a bit to see how I can get the wx strip strip to touch the body so no air gets in underneath. I bet if I can somehow get the windscreen to stand up a bit straighter, the hard top will fit better, too. I've only owned my B&B a couple weeks and am trying to get feedback before I go and screw up my car.
