Anybody recently narrowed their B&B 8.8 rear end?
I need to either narrow the rear end, spend $2300 at B&B on a 9" that (had better) bolt right in with the perfect locations for proper backspacing and clearances, or put together a Franken-axle of various parts. Any experts out there??

I have the 9" rear end and it does bolt in just fine which is good since I would really have been in trouble if I had to do any finagling.

There is a guy on ebay in IOWA that does a nice job of narrowing your rearend for about $500. You might check him out, of course you will need to buy your axels extra.

My son just did this last week for a 91 Mustang Gt Drag car. After much research and to comply with sanctioning bodies he purchase housing ends from Strange engineering. Then he found someone that had done 8.8's and had the necessary parts to line it up. He was charged about $250 for cutting and welding the existing brackets and checking/straightening the tubes. He will use Ford 9" style Timken "Set 20" tapered roller bearings. Next up is ordering the axles. MUCH MUCH better than the OEM 8.8 setup even when used with "C" clip eliminators.
