Victor Jr manifold clearance...

Is anyone using a Victor Jr manifold with a 351w? If so, what kind of air cleaner will clear the hood or do I have to order B&B's taller hood scoop? Thanks...

I run an Air Gap, which is basically the same height as the Victor Jr.

The Edelbrock 42364 fits perfectly under the scoop.

Get you a drop base air cleaner with a K&N filter top. The whole thing will cost you about $60 at a speed shop.

The lower price Cobra oval with the cast top and sheet metal base fit on my newer Superformance with a taller air filter. This particular filter has about a bit more surface area compared to same height smaller ovals if that's a concern. The car made 475HP at the wheels with that filter on the car. I didn't try it with it off though.

That filter won't fit under my hood, even with a narrow element.

Your filter looks taller than mine, probably better flow and same surface area anyway.

vic jr intake

I am using a vic jr. intake i believe and having to use a bigger scoop. engine just won't fit with that air cleaner and intake under the stock hood scoop. I even thought about lowering engine, but then I would not have much clearance.

air cleaner option

This will work, fairly inexpensive 9" air cleaner with an expensive K&N top. This flows well, tested on dyno.

I have an LAE(forerunner of B&B). It had a 351w with vic jr, 600 holly,3/8 spacer and the larger oval Cobra air cleaner. We added a 1/2" spacer between carb and air cleaner and still had plenty of clearance on the hood. I switched engines with a Wiend Stealth intake and 650 dp holley and phoenolic spacer...no clearance! Went with a 9" x 2" K&N filter and have the clearance needed.
I still have the oval Cobra if you are interested.

I'll let you know about oval cobra after I get everything together. Thanks...
