Engine angle

I'm using the Anchor 2287 motor mounts and the Anchor 2253 trans mount with my 351w and Tremec TKO. To me, it looks like my engine is sloping way too much towards the back of the car. Is this normal? Please post side view photos of your engine so I can see what the proper angle is supposed to look like. Thanks...

Mike

Your engine should be almost level. By any chance, does your car have a removable trans crossmember? Could it possibly be upside down? Just throwing out a few possibilities.

I have some 351W TKO pictures in the gallery. I used a different transmission mount because I liked the looks of it better. I agree with Tim Brewer my set up is pretty level.

Bob,
How tall is the trans mount that you used? Do you know the part number?

The engine should be down 2-3 degrees in the rear. Then your pinion angle will be adjusted to 2-3 degrees up.

Opposite but parallel.

I got the Prothane mount from Summit. PTP-6-1605-BL. I cannot remember how tall it is but in the 1.5 to 2 inch area. It fit better and looked better than the Anchor trans mount. I don't know or didn't measure the angle of my engine.

Engine angle update...

Problem solved. It seems that the B&B provided motor mounts that get welded to the frame are not the same for for 302's and 351's. I was sent 302 mounts and that caused the engine to sit way too high. With the proper 351 mounts, everything is good now :)
