2287 Motor Mounts

Has anyone had any problems with the 2287 motor mounts splitting? I've seen on other forums where this has been an issue and some people drill through and put in a bolt to keep them together.

That's an old (and cheap) racer's trick to keep the engine from over-flexing under hard throttle.

Definatly an old trick. My dad was doing that in the 60's.

Mine split

I never even started my engine yet, and the drivers side split.

I changed mounts to a better brand.

I have never seen that happen! Good that you cought it before you got out and started thrashing around.
