MSO Question

I just bought a B&B Cobra (built by B&B) which was registered and titled in Colorado as a 1965. It was sold and registered in R.I.with the same information under the same VIN BXxxxxx on the Colorado title . The frame # is not mentioned anywhere in any paperwork. I live in R.I. so getting it registered was easy. My question is, am I all set for any future registrations in other states (say if I move,or ever sold it) Do I need a MSO from B&B? Would it bb good just to have one? Can I even get one from B&B at this point?
Thanks
Lou

Hi Lou - not an expert but once the vehicle has been titled the MSO is not needed (although if there ever was an issue with the legitimatcy of a VIN it could come back into play). Would never be a bad idea to at least get a copy of the MSO for record keeping purposes if it is available (usually with the state that first titled the car). When I titled my SPF in Michigan the State kept the signed copy of the MSO, but I scanned it in before titling for record keeping purposes.

Thanks for your reply. Would i get the MSO from B&B?,the car was built in 2002.

There is one MSO per new car and it is given to the original buyer and must be surrendered to the state when/where it was first titled. The MSO is retained by that state and would no longer be available.

El has it right...there is only one MSO per vehicle.

Thanks everyone for your responses, that answers my questions, I guess all is good for my cobra for now and in the future as it has been registered in two states and titled.

California might question the 1965 with the car showing on the title that it was first sold as a 2002 thats how they went after all those people with Cobras and other kit cars and thats why they have the sb-100.
