FE Valve Covers in the BDR
Well now that I've got beautifull headers it's time to get to work on this puppy.
When I first ordered the car from Jay at Vintage he told me that some VCs won't have clearance and now I can definately add H/M VCs to the "won't work" list. That kind of sux just because they would be something cool that you don't see on a Cobra very often. I know, lots of opinions here (which could be dangerous:LOL:) but no time like the present to look at any alternatives. Yikes, it looks like changing spark plugs on that baby is going to be a biatch.

Could you move & remount the support further down the shaft?
It looks as if the clearance increases as you go down the shaft. Make a bracket to mount @ the original location & mount the bearing further down? Or something else you can re-locate it to? Craig |

Hi guys, here are a few more pics that show the mounts and header exits a bit better. There had been some concern that a piece of the motor mounts had been inadvertently left off, but after looking closer it sure seems like everything is there. I've never put one of these puppies in so Jay; does it look like everything is there? While ordering one of Bill's slave cylinder brackets today he thought something may be missing and I got a call from Reg asking me to get a couple of better pics as well.

Reading that maybe there was a way for my VCs to fit made me almost hope something was missing but I don't see it. The side pipes on the drivers side could exit more forward than they do, but that's hardly an issue for me and that's the only thing that I see. Steve |
Jay, I notice in your pictures, that the valve cover is not parallel to the footbobx/steering shaft, but Steve's shot appears more so. Has there been a footbox angle change in the molds?
