Backdraft / Ford Racing 427 Promotion
This price is all inclusive; the only additional cost to the customer will be final enclosed transportation to your door from our facility and any state taxes, registration and/or inspection fees. Get in, turn the key, and drive … the way it should be.
Ford Racing will begin shipping this new engine in March 2010, therefor this promotion is a pre-sale offering. Vintage Motorsports will do our best to deliver your new Backdraft Roadster in a timely fashion once Ford Racing releases the first 427s from production. At this time Backdraft Racing has several prototype engines in house from Ford Racing for evaluation.

We have been waiting for a big name engine builder to come to market with a "427" in this price range for a couple years. We know Roush is also looking at bringing something with the magic numbers at a lower price than the current 427, but that will be sometime out.
Clock is always ticking...

Jay, I thought that these 427 motors from Ford Racing were not available yet. Can you confirm that you can get these now? My source at Ford says that they are not available yet, still in testing.
Any updates that you have would be great...

I hope that they can get them to ship in March. That would be great!
I have done a lot of business with Ford Racing and they have been very behind on engines. As a matter of fact, I have two on back order now. I hope to have them within a month.

My experience with Ford Racing has always been it depends on the specific part number and the distributor you are getting it from.

I think Jay is saying, with the $46,900 price, that the lucky buyer is getting a $7,250 discount off of MSRP, but Jay can correct me if I'm DWIP (dead wrong in public).

They were waaaay behind on the Boss 302 block a few years back. They seem to be behind regularly, but they didn't have to borrow any $$ from us. |
