Lau ... if you look in my gallery on the first page , I have a picture of Hal at Daytona ( # 86 ) back in 1969 , I think . The picture is a little fuzzy , but I`ll be glad to scan it using better resolution and e mail it to you if you want .
The is also a picture of my Porsche at Reading there ... I ran either either # 9 or # 19 , depending on when I sent my registration in .

See ya ,
Bob

Bob, Yes, would like a picture, that was after I left for the Navy, it was orange, but never saw the stripe on the front that color. Need to dig out the Reading programs and check for your entry. I'm still looking for the picture of Hal in the 289 Cobra at Marlboro going over the bump airborn....

Steve, yes, when Hal was finished with his race cars they were "finished". You should have seen some of his early 60's Corvettes, fenders held together with tape, But he was a tough independant to race against. Wasn't until he got the 289 Cobra (CSX2127) that Hellertown Ford sponsored, that the car was keep in pretty good shape. Look at the Glen accident, then we did it in again at Pocono, down the back straight and when he went over the tunnel bump, he lost it at over 150mph. It took a months to get a whole rear clip. That's one of the last times I saw it.

Lau .... can you send me your e mail address as I will bump up against the size limits on CC if I try to use the pm ( I think ) . I`ll scan it in and then send it .
Know what you mean about Marlboro . You could get airborne at two locations .... one was coming out of Cappy`s corner into the bowl of the oval ( best place ) and the other was when you left the oval to hit the first turn ... a TIGHT 180 just before the back straight . A/P , B/P definitely went airborne , and some of the faster C/P , D/P and E/P cars would get airborne if they were really hooked up . It was a rush to feel the car get light as you came into and then out of the oval .... I really liked Marlboro .
