Cobra Monaco Seats in a BDR?
I'm looking for opinions on the fit (butt in seat) on a Cobra Monaco seat. How well do they hold you? comfort on long drives?
Second question: (seat in BDR) How do they fit? Seat wear in the sun... Third question: What would be better? Why Forth Question: Anybody selling them or know where to get a good deal? Final Question (different topic): How do I hide replies from "Ex..."s that constantly have diarrhea of the mouth. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...kingSmiley.gif If I wanted to listen/read a bunch of useless, unhelpful, dump remarkes I would have stayed with other ex-‘s...~14K posts or not, time to dump this one. :) |
There was a car down in FL on one of my visits that had seats like those. I can tell you from what I could tell it was nearly impossible to get in and out because of the side "wings".
I can offer some options on seats for you, but tell me if you have a soft top? |
These are the seats. Are the wings bigger than they appear?http://www.winecountrymotorsports.co...roducts_id=759
No soft top... but I do like the look of the new hard top |
Are you after something with a head rest? We've tried a number of different seats that are lower. Once you get over the rear wall in seat height the fit gets challenging. What is your height/inseam?
|
Head rest is not required. The current seats grab my back in a funny spot so I was looking to getting rid of the seam (and getting a full height seat). I'm 5'10 with a 32 inseam but wide back.

We are same height. The most comfortable seats I have put in a Backdraft (have to give up the slider mechanism and too wide if you have a pre-900 soft top) would be the Cobra Roadster SS seats which they stopped making. There is another company in the UK that has taken up the production of those seats, I will find it and post.
These seats solve the back seam issue because they come up higher and that is why you have to remove the slider and fix mount. Also, the new seats in the BDR cars from 850 or so up are much better in this regard. They are wider, come up higher, and sit you lower in the car thanks to a new angle and recessed slider mechanism. |
These are the same as the Cobra SS seats: https://factoryfiveparts.com/product...cat=260&page=1
Another seat I believe would work, but have not tried yet: https://www.europaspares.com/SEATS/I...INYL_3896.html |
www.subesports.com check this site out ,I just got the cobra roadster ss seat .

Great links/ I'm should start a post of others favorite parts web site. I could look for hours at thigs I "need".
As far as a seat I will be tracking the car at some events and I am looking for more support then what I currently have. From the sound of it I should go to a local shop and try the fit before I purchase. I'm not worried about losing the adjustment (just one more reason why the wife can't drive it). Ideally I would want full bolsters but I am trying to find the middle of support and looks... full bolsters might look to "ricey"). The reason I was looking at the cobra seats is it has the right name embroidered on it :) Again thanks for the info. |
