body offset to wheels?
I noticed my backdrift body and some others that I can see in photos do not seem centered on the chassis, is that something that is supposed to be that way or just poor quality control?
mine must be at least an inch off to the right in the rear.my right rear tire is definitely set in further than my left and it's not solely a alignment issue.
I remember reading somewhere that the original cobra body is not symmetrical is that possibly what they meant?

can the alignment adjustments actually move the bottom of the tire out ? I thought it was just the top of the tire that you and move in and out and then the tire could also adjust left and right but not top and bottom out at the same time? |

Yes it can move, depending on which lower arms you have and if the top was modified/slotted.

It's a common problem with a lot of Cobras. There are few that are identicle from one side to the other, other than Kirkhams. If you are just building the car you may be able to shift it a little. When I was building my car I was aware of the issue and measured off the frame to each wheel well and shifted the front about 1/4".

Just make sure you keep the pinion angle right. I had the same problem with my car.

I should be taking the rear wheels off this weekend to fix the emergency brake and check my gas vent situation, these cars can definitely keep you busy**):), then I will be able to see the rear suspension in more detail and take some photos.

Not at the lower arm you show in the photo. Newer cars have adjustable lower arms... |

correct I was just showing you the lower one in the photo .where should I photograph the top that you're wondering about ? from looking up in there I don't see much of anything as far as upper but it is so tight have to wait until the wheel is off. |

A photo will not show it anyway. The bolt would be covering it.
