Brake question
Yep, Its that time and would like to replace the pads with a good set that doesn't leave my wheels and bodywork with black brakedust everytime I take it out. I use it for street only. Also, it's my understanding that the pads are 95 BMW 325I.
I do use them sometimes for small pets and little o'l ladies crossing the road once in a while.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe you could get the upgraded pad from bmw for more stopping power, just a thought. My pads leave tons of dust.

I'd take a set that didn't squeal when they get hot.

I swapped my pads out to Axxium semi-metalic pads for a E-36 (my build number is 455).
They have very little dust and great brakig power for street use.
If you have brake squeal it is caused by harmonics (metal on metal contact) between the caliper and the pad. when you replace the pads put no squeak between the two to stop it.

Thanks Rwillia4 for the info. Your right about the break squeal I have also made alumn inserts to stop the noise as some times (rare) the no squeak stuff doen't work.

Check Bavarian Autosport.
They have 4 sets of pads for you to choose from.

You also might want to try "Armor All Wheel Protectant". It is a spray that puts a film on your wheels that brake dust an dirt won't stick to. We use it on my wife's Z-4 and it makes a big difference.

I understand that Gibbs Penetrating Oil applied to aluminum or magnesium wheels is the best protectant from the weather as well as to keep the brake dust from them.
http://www.gibbsbrandlubricant.com/ I don't know how true this is. Anyone out there use Gibbs? I've been reluctant to put anything other then a mild soap and water with a cotton cloth on my wheels.
