Backdraft Racing Price Increase - $35,900
BACKDRAFT RACING PRICE INCREASE
To combat the increased costs of production; including higher costs of raw materials and transportation expenses as well as the declining value of the US dollar in the World economy, Backdraft Racing is forced to impose a price increase effective May 16th, 2011. New pricing on the RT3 rolling chassis will be $35,900. This price increase will include 17” Knock Off Wheels and Tires as standard equipment, other components will remain unchanged in the base roadster. Backdraft RT3 Roadsters ordered on or before May 16th, 2011 will be delivered at the current MSRP of $31,900. Existing as well as incoming dealer inventory in stock after May 16th, 2011 will be subject to new retail pricing requirements. |
Still a deal! Just got BDR #982 from Jay and Brian at Vintage Motorsports. These guys are great. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for BDR give them a call. They worked well with me and my budget. Very easy to deal with and great customer service. Very clean workmanship and attention to detail. Thanks again Jay!

Haven't had any yet. We went over the car with a fine tooth comb. Figure if I can fix 15,000HP engines on a ship I can manage a lil 427.

Hmmm, that's the same thing that happened to me when the BDRs were about to change from $28.5k to $31.5K. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/IMG_1498.JPG |

I should add a note to the price change... there have been evolutionary upgrades to the cars when it comes to materials and components that have not been adjusted for in price in the last 2 years. These items are now incorporated in this new price. Just some of the items worth noting:
1.) Z Rated Performance Tires Standard on 17" Knock Off Wheels 2.) Maradyne High CFM Electric Fan 3.) Larger Brake Rotors and Calipers with Improved Rear Brakes (necessitated the move to 17" Wheels Standard) 4.) Improved Turn Signal Switch (supplier change) 5.) Stronger Grade Windshield Frame Extrusions 6.) Upgraded Gas Cap Assembly (Roller) with Vented Cap 7.) Upgraded Transmission Crossmember 8.) Custom Trimmed Upholstery (deviated stitching) 9.) Updated Battery Mount and Location 10.) New Handbrake Lever Assembly (handle change, not the cover or mechanism at wheels) 11.) Roto-mold Fuel Tank Upgrade with Support Straps 12.) Custom Half Shafts 13.) Chassis Modification for Wider Engine Fitment 14.) Pedal and Pedal Box Improvements 15.) License Plate Mount Update |
All that this year ... Damn! The roller fuel cap sounds nice. The beast wont feel the same now, haha! :D

Inventory levels this season have been well below what the market is demanding. Did I mention we have a couple in stock? ;) |
I just recieved my from Jay in March and what a blast to drive. You won't regret it if you buy from Vintage and beat the increase...they put together a great car.
|
BTW, I second what the snowman says about doing business with Jay. It'd be hard to find a more straight up dealer. Which is why I bought from him in the first place.
|
Oh I don't think his rating is quite 100%, It great to see BDR has improved on some key issues such as the halfshafts and maybe the new cooling fan will help the water temps.

Those lights do look great on it. Now it needs white side pipes! :D

Things will only get worse with the way our govt is spending money like drunken sailors and the devaluation of the dollar thanks to that same govt printing money(the Fed) to fuel their spending. Eventually the dollar wont be a legitimate world currency, which is exactly what some people want.
