Back Draft Front wheel bearings

I have BDR 226 with 5200 miles. I have had problems with a slight popping sound when I'm turning right into my drive way at slow speed. I changed the front sway bar bushings which didn't help. But I found the problem. The front driver's side wheel had a small amount of play and popped when I pulled laterally on the top of the wheel.

Both wheel bearings have gone bad and have been replaced. Problem solved. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I find it hard to believe they would go bad after so few miles. Thanks.

If wheel bearings are not installed correctly, they'll wobble and only last a few thousand miles. People that owned old mustangs (like late 60's) learned to adjust the wheel bearings fairly often.
