Dip stick tube for late 302

While checking out everything after having the BDR on an extended road trip, i noticed that a small piece of the bracket on the dip stick tube had broken off. The tube was almost falling out. Apparently the u-shaped bracket never fit down completely on the header bolt and caused the bracket to break. The bracket had the number 111481 on it. I think this is the stock tube but i have been unable to locate one. It is a push in the block tube. Any suggestions? Anyone use the Lokar dip stick/tube. Thanks.

I'm using the Lokar stick on my '90 302 engine. Had to "modify" the bracket a little, to "center" the tube between the header tubes. Looks great! I'll try to take a picture.

Thanks for the info. It would be great to see a pic of it. Did you have any problems getting it into the block or with the length of the dip stick?

I'll order one today from Jegs.

I just posted two pictures in my gallery: I couldn't get them to load here. I hope this helps.

Great pics! I placed my order tonight. The old tube feels very loose so I hope I don't have problems getting it out of the block and the new one in. Thanks!

It shouldn't be a problem. The Lokar has a "locking feature" that keeps the stick in, until you push down on it: neat feature and the stick looks great too.
