Looking for new seats
I'm looking to replace my seats. I would like a seat with a headrest. The Corbeau Classic Bucket has a great vintage stile that would match the car very well. I have not been able to find anyone that stocks them to see how they fit me. Is anyone using them in their cobra or have a recommendation?

I have the Corbeau Classic II's, which have the headrest. I'm looking to get rid of them to get something more traditional actually.
I can tell you that they are comfortable all around. If there's something specific you want to know, just send me an email or PM. I also might have a picture in my album on here. If not, I'll add one for you...

The Corbeau won't fit, I tried them. Superformance has seats with headrests that they put in the cars they sell overseas. They look good. The standard color is black. I bought some seat from gts classics in Austin, Tx. Phone # 702-353-7175. I bought the Nurburgring Leathrette seats with headrest. They look good and work ok. But if you have the time I would look at Superformance. I have a Backdraft.:D

I guess I'm glad I have a Midstates kit, if the Corbeau won't fit. Mine are only 19" wide and not very deep. There's room to spare, too. One more reason to like Midstates...hard to imagine getting a smaller seat.

The standard movie theater seat is 18" but I have grown over the years.
Face it, we are too broad across the buttocks!

i just recently put these in mine.
Clubman - Sports - Cobra Seats
not the most 'fancy' seat, but its actually pretty comfortable. makes is safer for track events. |

I hav seen Corbeau classics in a backdraft just this last weekend .
I have been thinking about putting them in my BDR for the safety of the adjustable head rest.
I had them in my FFR and they fit Ok a little tight in the length but the BDR is much longer in length.

I have Corbeau Classic II's in my FFR also. Used 6 degree angle setup and fit perfect !

The area on a Corbeau Classic that I'd be concerned about is the top corner (where your shoulder would be). Unlike the more traditional bucket seat, which has a curved top, the Corbeau is more square. As I mentioned, I have the CC II's and they fit in my Midstates on rails, but there isn't a lot of room between the top corner and the body that sweeps down to the door opening. I can get a picture of mine if anyone wants it...? I'm taking mine out soon to drop in some buckets...I just think they look better and my back can take some more abuse yet...it's only been in use 28 years...

I thought I had read that the headrests don't adjust very far up, so that they end up being a fulcrum right at your neck if you're average to tall height. If you got rearended, this could be dangerous and cause severe spinal injuries even with a helmet on.

It's always interesting on online forums when you get someone who swears one thing, and another who swears the contrary...
I tend to think when someone on this forum says something won't work, it's probably worth assuming they might not have been thinking outside the box...
Thanks for clarifying that the CC's would fit. I'm sure people viewing the thread in the future will appreciate it too. |

Has any body tried the Mamba seats and I would like to know where they made?
Neither the Corbeau or the Mamba seats meet Aussie ADR3-03 seat rule as they are too low even with headrest extended.

Hi Guys,
We build seats to suit.Most challenging were seats into a Daytona coupe for a tall guy with all the chassi pick up points lurking into the passenger compartment.You can have seats w or without headrest, any color, any pattern it's your choice.

I have heard the same thing that XXX seat doesn't fit. I think any seat could fit you might have to modify it some, but how hard can it be? For some reason the Cobra Monaco seat always catches my eye. It already has cobra embossed on the headrest and is the real reason I like it. I have been looking for a local vendor so I can test fit it.
