No brake lights

Backdraft 346 is having brake light problems. Switch appears to be on master cylinder, connections are tight. Anyone had this problem? Also turn signals are not working. Appreciate some help.

Yes, I had a problem with the brake light switch mounted on the master cylinder. Not hard to change, just a pain as it is on the outside of the master cylinder under the fender. My car is build #785 (2009), replaced with Duralast Part # RB401 Stoplight Switch $10 from Autozone. The switch is a two prong.

I had a problem after switching to LED bulbs. They would come loose so I had to use some clear silicone sealant to keep them working. The white plastic sockets aren't well made.

The problem is that the car uses an antique brake light switch (like mine) that gets cooked by the exhaust heat and goes bad, like the clutch fluid/slave cylinder continually does...
Replacements ( I can't remember the part #) are readily available at Advance, either two prong or three, and you'll get about 1.5 years out of one, depending on how much you drive.
They are cheap, about $10. Check it with and ohm meter and compressed air to be sure.

I switched mine very early on to a contact switch rigged off the brake pedal. I've never had a problem.

If the brake lights and turn signals are not working, I wouldn't concentrate on the brake switch - I'd focus on the rear sockets/bulbs. I assume the 4 ways and turn signals work up front but not in the rear?

If both re not working, check the fuse. Sometimes you get lucky.

Brake lites and turn signals

I had problem. Both brake and turn signal lites would stop working, would change blown fuse, worked till I hit brakes while turn signal was on, then blew fuse again. Checked everything. I changed turn signal switch on steering column that was problem. Did not realize how much juice the turn signals used
