Hey guys-
I know to check the rear diff and did tighten up the star bolts today while I had the car on the lift.

For those who have had theirs for some time, what are the areas you focus on from a maintenance perspective every few months?

The car number and mfg date have a lot of impact on what to look at during routine maint. Earlier car numbers will require you to look at attach points for rear end torque arms (cracks) and clutch fluid color and levels. Later numbers these things have been taken care of during manufacture.

Nut and bolt it like a race car at least once a year or every few thousand miles. Just put up on a lift or safe jack stands and go from front to back with a few wrenches on each nut and bolt. I'm always surprised by what can be found just giving it a good look once or twice a year. Not much skill needed, just patience. Saves a ton of headaches and money later.

Thanks guys, car is #1260 and was built in Oct 13'. I believe many of the fixes are in place.

Check all fasteners once a year. Change brake and clutch fluid every year. I always have to change my MSD cap and rotor every year also as they don't seem to last. I would also take wheels off once a year even if you don't need to so your spinners don't weld them selves to the hub.

The reason your caps don't last is you need to bend up the rotor tab to ensure it make CONTACT with the rotor button. If not it arcs and eats both away.

Always grab your distributor and twist to see if the hold down has deformed allowing it to turn. The better clamps don't deform.

Highly recommend striping each bolt under the car with a line of paint (red works great)...that allows for a quick visual if anything moved.

Yep, this is the stuff. Been using the GP-X for years in white and yellow. Comes in a pen-like style with a bullet tip. Shake it, pump the tip and you are good to go. Works good for marking old parts so you remember what they were for too!;)

Great tip with the GP-X pens guys thanks. After just having gone through each bolt front to back just to be sure, I can see the benefit in the quick visual.
